In the summer of 2014, at our clinic, we saw a man in his 40s, a father of two, for severe sleep apnea. He could not afford 1750$ for CPAP. We called the home medical company and got him a 20% discount. He still could not afford it. Too sleepy to hold a job, he became unemployed and depressed. His wife left him. That is when we started with a mission that every patient with sleep apnea should get a home sleep test, CPAP machine, and supplies for under a 1000$.
